Overview

Tempo Quest is a Boulder, Colo.-based provider of proprietary weather forecasting software solutions. Led by President Gene Pache, the company uses NVIDIA GPUs to reduce regional forecasting times from two hours to fifteen minutes. Its software also aims to improve forecast precision and the graphic visualization of critical weather data analytics. Tempo Quest closed a $2.5M seed financing round in December 2017. Investors included SCubed Capital and a group of individual angel investors including Bob Pavey and Harvey Jones. The company intends to use the funds to continue development of its solutions. Founded in July 2014 and based in Las Vegas, TempoQuest develops weather forecasting tools using GPU-based high-performance computers. Its software is designed to be deployed on NVIDIA GPU accelerators. The company says the software is expected to accelerate weather forecast processing by a factor of ten and improve precision by a factor of three. Those improvements are intended to increase the usefulness of forecasts for weather-impacted industries such as transportation and energy. TempoQuest completed a $1.0M Series A financing in October 2016. Investors in the round included NVIDIA GPU Ventures, the company's co-founders (Ed Keible, Gene Pache and Victor Schnee) and angel investors Robert Pavey, Harvey Jones and Al Boschulte.
