TenSixteen Bio builds a research and development ecosystem around somatic mosaicism and clonal hematopoiesis (CHIP) to discover and develop novel therapeutics for age-related diseases. The company combines a large-scale multi-omics and clinical data platform with an expansive research and clinical trial network and a proprietary assay to diagnose CHIP. TenSixteen aims to use these tools to identify drug targets and the patients most likely to respond to tailored treatments across indications including cancer and cardiovascular disease. The company was incubated by Foresite Labs and is led by CEO Mark Chao, a physician-scientist and former VP of Oncology at Gilead Sciences. TenSixteen positions early therapeutic targeting of CHIP biology as a means to intercept disease at earlier, more treatable stages.
