Ternary

222 Columbus Ave, Ste 209, San Francisco, CA, 94133, US

Overview

Ternary provides a FinOps platform that ingests real-time billing data from Google Cloud Platform, AWS and Azure to break down cloud line items, forecast spending, and recommend cost reductions. The product uses human-tunable algorithms, configurable alerts, and is built on native GCP serverless services to scale and process very large spend volumes. The company says it can process billions of dollars of cloud spend and differentiate by releasing major functionality quickly. Ternary has close to 250 customers and a 25-person team, with plans to grow headcount to about 40 within the next year. Management plans to use the new capital for go-to-market efforts, scaling its revenue team, and continued product development. Prior to the round the company had over 24 months of runway and says it has an even longer runway today. Ternary is a San Francisco-based FinOps SaaS platform purpose-built to optimize Google Cloud Platform costs. Its platform automates cost visibility and optimization for application developers, DevOps/SRE, IT finance, and executives, enabling teams to identify unseen savings and continuously spend to plan. Ternary is a Google Cloud Partner and a FinOps Foundation certified platform. Since launching in 2021, it has grown to more than 100 active enterprise customers. The company raised $6.72M in a seed round and intends to use the capital to accelerate product development, expand sales and marketing, and build its team to meet demand. Led by CEO Sasha Kipervarg, Ternary focuses specifically on GCP cost optimization. Ternary builds a FinOps Cloud Cost Management (CCM) platform that is native to Google Cloud Platform and runs on Google Cloud. The product provides visibility and recommendations across GCP services including Compute, Storage, BigQuery and Kubernetes, and offers budget forecasts, anomaly detection, and optimization of Committed Use Discounts (CUDs) and Sustained Use Discounts (SUDs). Ternary emphasizes tooling and workflows that encourage engineers to review and act on cost optimizations, and to create accountability and collaboration between finance and engineering. The company is pursuing a partner‑first go-to-market approach with ecosystem partners such as SADA, Cloudwerx and Katana1 to reach customers. Leadership frames the product around FinOps principles to help organizations manage variable cloud spend and prioritize cost‑saving work alongside product development. Ternary announced $1.6 million in initial funding to support product and go‑to‑market efforts.
