Terra builds APIs that let developers connect to fitness and health data produced by software and hardware. The company plans to prioritize integration points with other services’ APIs first, then roll out SDKs and later Bluetooth-enabled wearable integrations. Terra operates on a consumption-pricing model the CEO compares to Plaid and Twilio. The startup has attracted roughly nearly 100 developers to its product so far. Terra currently has a four-person team (the two co-founders plus two engineers) and plans to hire to seven immediately and up to ten within the quarter. The company will use the new capital to accelerate hiring and expand engineering work on multiple integration points.
