TerraVerdae Bioworks develops fully biodegradable, high‑performance bioplastics for markets including agriculture, forestry, food packaging, adhesives and personal care. Its proprietary PHA polymer technology is carbon‑neutral and uses renewable carbon feedstocks such as municipal and forestry waste and agricultural residues. Product focuses include films and coatings, thermoplastic moldings, adhesives and specialty PHAs; one highlighted product is a bioplastic pouch for tree seedlings that is consumed by soil microbes within months. The company has expanded in‑house product development expertise and equipment to fine‑tune custom formulations for strength, elasticity and impact resistance. TerraVerdae plans to test‑launch the biodegradable seedling pouches later this year for commercial use by foresters, followed by additional bioplastic products for other sectors. Established in 2009, TerraVerdae has product development facilities in Edmonton, Alberta and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
