Tesseract is a vertically-integrated new energy company that enables customers to buy ‘virtual’ solar panels or wind turbines through an app, rather than installing rooftop hardware. The company says customers could cut their bills by as much as 100% and can capitalise on selling excess energy. Tesseract uses co-located grid-scale batteries to manage energy flexibility and create a commercially attractive model. It plans to buy and build selected renewable energy assets and to develop its platform further using the new capital. The company was founded in 2022 by Alan Chang (CEO) and Charles Orr (COO) and is based in London. Tesseract raised $78M in funding to support these plans.
