Tetra AI
71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom
Overview
Tetra AI is building decision-support software that models variables such as case duration variability, staffing availability, speciality requirements and cancellation risk to recommend optimised operating-theatre lists. By improving day-to-day theatre planning, the platform aims to increase utilisation of the UK’s costly operating theatres—each of which can exceed £2.3 million per year to run—and reduce the backlog of more than 7.3 million elective patients in England. The system is positioned as an aide for theatre and operational teams, not a replacement for clinical judgment. Tetra AI is currently piloting the product with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, working on live elective lists to prove impact. The company was founded by Jamie Papasavvas and Thomas Babb and is concentrating on deep integrations with NHS workflows before wider rollout. A recently secured £450,000 pre-seed round provides the capital to extend pilots, enhance integrations and advance product development. No revenue or user metrics have been disclosed to date, but the focus is squarely on demonstrating measurable gains in theatre throughput to drive future adoption and funding.
