TextExpander
548 Market St #37453, San Francisco, CA, 94104, United States
Overview
TextExpander offers a platform that lets users create customizable text snippets and keyboard shortcuts to trigger longer text-based actions across emails, CRM systems, calendar events and other environments. Originally launched in 2007 out of the developer platform Smile, the product is designed for non-technical users and teams to build and share snippet repositories. The company reports about 100,000 monthly active users and roughly 560 million expansions in the past year, and it was bootstrapped and profitable prior to taking investment. Planned product work includes features to suggest and build new snippets, expanded analytics to surface high-performing snippets and outcomes, broader integrations (for example with Salesforce), and potential support for non-text interactions such as audio or chatbot integrations via APIs. TextExpander positions itself as a helper to augment human work rather than replace workers with RPA or agent assistants. The funding comes alongside a leadership change: J.D. Mullin has been appointed CEO while the co-founders remain on the board and involved in development.
