Overview
Los Angeles Golf Club is one of the flagship franchises in TGL, the technology-enabled golf league created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The club is majority-owned by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and counts Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Michelle Wie West, and Good Good Golf among its investor group. LAGC’s core product is a data-rich, broadcast-oriented team golf experience that blends live competition with advanced simulators and in-arena fan engagement. Ahead of TGL’s second season, the team brought on Ilitch Sports + Entertainment to handle data analytics, media strategy, brand development, and overall franchise operations. TGL’s ecosystem is expanding rapidly: a Dallas consortium paid over $70 million for another franchise earlier in 2024, and the league has filed trademarks for “Texas Golf Club” and “Chicago Links Golf Club.” Parent company TMRW Sports carried a $500 million valuation as of mid-2024 and has also filed to launch “WTGL,” a prospective women’s league. These initiatives point to significant growth potential and a push to reshape both men’s and women’s professional golf.
