Its solutions enable IC manufacturers and IP companies to maximize reuse of existing product portfolios, create new product variants, and adapt designs for manufacture with any semiconductor foundry. Led by Chairman and CEO Rodger Sykes, the company has facilities in Cwmbran (UK), Hyderabad (India) and Cologne (Germany). Thalia intends to accelerate development of its solutions and expand commercial and engineering activities in the UK, USA and continental Europe. The company plans to grow its technology development capabilities in the UK and India and to establish a presence in continental Europe and the USA. It raised $2m (£1.52m) in funding to support these efforts. Thalia Design Automation develops methodology and design-automation solutions to support analog, RF and mixed-signal IP re-use, design migration and derivative creation. The company combines automated design tools, methodology and experienced analog IC design resources to help IC manufacturers and IP houses diversify product ranges and migrate designs to appropriate semiconductor manufacturing technologies. Customers report schedule, cost and resource savings of up to 50% and the ability to refocus internal teams on new development programs. Thalia has achieved significant customer traction over the past 18 months. It will use the latest funding to expand customer engagement and increase its team of expert analog IC developers. Investors renewed commitments in recognition of the company's progress and market potential in automating analog and mixed-signal design.
