Thalia Therapeutics
Chellaston, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, Europe
Overview
Founded in 2014, Thalia Therapeutics is building a diversified pipeline of RNA-based therapeutics across oncology and cardiovascular disease. Prior to the acquisition it had a dual-target small interfering RNA programme in preclinical development and a separate cardiovascular asset. The acquisition of Sanmirna adds miRisten, a clinical-stage microRNA-126 inhibitor for AML currently in a Phase 1 dose-escalation trial, advancing Thalia into clinical-stage development. Thalia raised €3.1 million to support operations and the acquisition, and agreed to pay €4.2 million upfront for Sanmirna plus up to €15 million in deferred milestones. The company plans to use roughly €1.1 million to fund miRisten through Phase 1 completion, €869k to progress bispecific cardiovascular programmes toward IND, and €1.1 million for working capital, R&D and transaction costs. Topline results for miRisten are expected in H1 2027.
