The Build Chain is an online construction procurement platform that connects sub-contractors and SME housebuilders in need of materials with independent merchants. Its solution lets buyers submit a single enquiry that is automatically delivered to suitable merchants, removing the need to find suppliers, contact them manually, and chase quotes. After a pilot and a nationwide rollout in 2023, the platform has driven over £7m in quotes to independent merchants across the UK. The company plans to expand the platform to other audiences in the construction industry over the next year. It will use new investment to recruit experienced hires across technology, operations, sales and finance to support scaling. The firm is forecasting strong growth in 2024 and beyond as it seeks to create efficiencies throughout the built environment supply chain.
