Its test is based on recent research identifying a key hormone measurement that can help predict onset, and the company is working with researchers to validate those findings. The Cusp launched with an initial care package priced at $210 (including the test and three months of care) and charges $72/month for ongoing membership; California customers can order the telemedical consultation and test for $159 versus roughly $500 for equivalent in-clinic lab work. The company currently provides care to roughly 200 patients and says its membership is growing rapidly. Clinical collaborator Dr. Mindy Goldman of UCSF is working with the company, and CEO Taylor Sittler — a co-founder of Color Genomics — leads the business. To date The Cusp has raised capital from investors to support its launch and growth.
