The Faction Collective is a Verbier, Switzerland–based provider of ski equipment and apparel. It has developed a full lineup of skis and accessories for winter sports produced in the EU and distributed across North America and Europe. The company was co-founded in 2006 by Alex Hoye and Tony McWilliam. Faction has raised $3M in funding to support its growth. The company plans to use the capital to expand its range of skis and other products, invest further in technology development and increase awareness. Octopus Investments, Swiss angel group Go Beyond and other angel investors backed the round, and Octopus’ Simon Andrews joined the board as a non-executive director.
