The Floor is a Tel Aviv-based fintech startup that leverages technologies in fintech, blockchain and cybersecurity to provide a global platform for financial institutions. It works with six of the world’s largest financial institutions to tackle business pain points and is headquartered at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange with a branch in Hong Kong. Led by co-founder and CEO Avi Cohen, the company has focused on R&D initiatives to deliver new technologies to financial institutions. In May 2018 The Floor announced a strategic partnership with TASE to jointly establish a blockchain securities lending platform. The company aims to bring Israeli technologies to Asia, connect with local players, and pursue global business expansion, especially in China. Financially, The Floor raised a US$5m strategic investment from Fosun and Fosun Hani Securities Limited, who will join its board. The Floor (operated by Fintech Next Ltd.) is a fintech hub launched in Tel Aviv, Israel that provides a platform for startups, entrepreneurs, venture capital firms and banks to connect. The hub focuses on developing and implementing fintech solutions across digital banking, capital markets, big data analytics, blockchain, IoT for banking, digital payments, compliance/KYC and anti-fraud. It is led by Avi Cohen, Gil Devora and Moises Cohen. The Floor will select up to five member startups to participate in a dedicated accelerator, the Fintech Next Programme. The hub is supported by Banco Santander, HSBC, Intesa Sanpaolo and RBS. Financially, The Floor raised $2M in funding from Pando Group.
