1601 N State St Ste 1A, Lehi, UT, 84043, United States
Overview
The Gun Box makes a gun storage system that uses RF and fingerprint scanning to keep handguns secure while allowing rapid access in an emergency. The unit texts its owner and triggers an alarm when its internal accelerometer detects movement. Physical features include a die-cast aircraft-strength aluminum alloy shell, fully enclosed internal hinges, a pry-resistant lap joint, multiple mounting holes, and USB ports; internal dimensions are 8.9” by 6.6” by 1.5”. The product is offered in three models with prices ranging from $225 to $475. The company raised funds via an Indiegogo campaign and planned to begin shipping preordered units on December 12, 2013. The device was invented by Ryan Hyde, who has more than 15 years of engineering and product-design experience.
