400 NW 26th St, Miami, FL, 33127, United States

Overview

The LAB Miami operates a 10,000-square-foot collaborative work-learn campus in Miami’s Wynwood Art District, offering workspace combined with mentorship and educational programming. The campus supports an in-house community of mentors and investors and can accommodate up to 300 members. Programming includes technology hackathons, a Gutter Film series, continuing-education courses, local art exhibits and community events such as a Startup Carnival with a “Shark Tank” pitch. The LAB partners with organizations including New York’s Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator and runs civic idea sessions in collaboration with the Knight Foundation tied to the Knight News Challenge. The LAB Miami recently closed a $650,000 funding round, including $250,000 from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and additional capital from investors led by Marco Giberti, Faquiry Diaz Cala, Boris Hirmas Said and Daniel Echavarria. The organization is positioning the campus to recruit a diversified mix of members—tech startups, designers, investors, nonprofits, artists and academics—and to showcase its programs to the broader community.
