Overview

The List is an e-commerce marketplace and new app that merges content, social networking and live commerce to help consumers discover and source hard-to-find luxury items. The app enables livestreaming with retailers, real-time Q&A, shoppable images and video, and photo-based sourcing requests to the seller network. On the seller side, stores can set up digital shops quickly while The List handles fulfillment, insurance, taxes, duties and store-to-door delivery to 190 countries. The company has built machine learning and computer vision into its supply chain and exposes multiple APIs to sync and digitalize inventory. The List works with over 150 retail partners, counts the U.S. as its largest market, and plans the app to drive growth into additional markets and languages. The company has a 55-person workforce and reported consumer-side revenue growth of a couple-thousand percent, with this year’s Black Friday delivering its best month ever. THE LIST is a Dubai-based luxury e-commerce marketplace that sources curated products from global boutiques and offers them to customers in the Middle East. Founded in March 2016 by Andreas Skorski, the company began as a marketplace connecting retailers and customers and later pivoted to handle payments and logistics to solve availability and pricing gaps in the region. THE LIST operates an omni-channel model that onboards international brick-and-mortar retailers without buying inventory, enabling a broader product assortment and faster launch cadence. The platform says it can offer prices up to 20–30% below Middle Eastern retail through international sourcing. The company plans to use recent funding to strengthen technology development, build an m-commerce ecosystem, develop mobile solutions, and incorporate AI-based personalization and machine-learning elements to improve customer experience. THE LIST is also planning to open a technology hub in Lisbon in the second quarter.
