The Minte places full-time, company-employed housekeepers onsite at apartment and condo properties so residents can book consistent, hotel-style cleaning services. Housekeepers undergo an eight-day training program, many coming from hotel housekeeping backgrounds, and managers perform random spot checks and review resident ratings in real time. The company uses eco-friendly P&G products and supplies, keeps housekeeping carts on site, and offers live customer service and backup staff coverage. At roughly 20 months old it employs about 60 people and serves just under 70 properties in Chicago and about 20 in D.C., adding six to ten new properties per market each month. The Minte says over half of its cleans are on recurring packages and it offers à la carte pricing for individual cleans. It recently launched its app, plans smart-home integration and wider distribution of a physical in-unit “button” device, and intends to expand into condos, corporate housing and a third city in early 2019.
