The Plate is a Berlin-based culinary creator platform that enables cooks to create channels, build communities, and monetize culinary content. Founded by former McKinsey and Bain executives Nadine Erk and Isabell Weiser, the startup is targeting the estimated 13+ million culinary content creators. It aims at the $10 billion culinary content market and the $60 billion kitchenware market. The company has grown to a 20-person team with roles in Berlin and a majority of the tech team based in Manila. The Plate is hand-selecting and approaching cooks to partner with at launch and has already brought on chef Dominik Hartmann. Financially, it has secured $1.3 million in pre-seed funding to support its launch and growth.
