Overview

Founded in 2010 by Matt McGraw, TheLions built a platform that rates employers on their ability to hire and retain high-performing salespeople using LinkedIn data and company interviews. The site pulls sales job listings from startups' own websites and augments them with employer ratings such as retention rates, median tenure, gender ratio, and median age. TheLions calculates success rates by tracking hires and whether they stayed at least a year (for example, it tracked 60 sales hires at Box with a 90% one-year retention rate and 17 hires at Fuze Box with a 29% rate). The company already has customers on the recruiting side and the public site is free to use. McGraw says he plans to add more data points and expand coverage to more companies over time. TheLions has not finalized a revenue model but expects to connect its recruiting business with company profiles and job listings as a likely approach. The company has raised external capital to date and is developing its product and coverage.
