Overview
Thesis Couture is developing re‑engineered high heels that replace traditional metal shanks and compressed cardboard with a plastic chassis and use 3D printing for faster, cheaper prototyping. The team includes founder Dolly Singh and engineers from the aerospace world—former astronaut Garrett Reisman and rocket scientist Hans Koenigsmann—along with design director Amanda Parkes and manufacturing lead Matt Thomas. The company is still in research and development and plans to prototype and manufacture using facilities in Brazil and Italy. Thesis intends to launch an initial preorder of 1,500 pairs in the fall, with the first pairs priced at about $925 and later styles ranging from $350–$950. Financially, the company has been raising angel capital and so far has secured the majority of a $1 million angel target. The product positioning emphasizes engineering-led comfort without sacrificing wearable design.
