Thing Labs
2 Mint Plaza, San Francisco, California, 94103, United States
Overview
Thing Labs develops Brizzly, a web-based social networking client. Recent product updates added Foursquare check-in support, a camera control feature, and options for classic or new-style retweets. The app also moved its posting form into the left-hand navigation to allow posting from any Twitter screen and added easy access to drafts and Brizzly photos. Other interface improvements include collapsible navigation sections to keep menus and the Trends & news area usable when scrolling. Thing Labs received a little over $2 million in funding from Polaris Ventures, SoftTech VC, and angels including Michael Jones, Ron Conway, and Greg Yaitanes. The startup initially sprang out of Polaris’ Dog Patch Labs in San Francisco, and the article reports AOL is in the process of acquiring the fledgling company for its founding and management team.
