Haid-und-Neu-Straße 7, Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg, 76131, Germany

Overview

thingsTHINKING is a Karlsruhe-based deeptech AI startup commercializing semantha, an out-of-the-box text-processing SaaS that bypasses lengthy training phases for AI applications. Semantha lets domain experts educate an AI system using just a few simple examples, enabling a divide-and-conquer approach to text-related challenges. The product stems from 14 years of NLP and AI research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the company was founded in 2017 by Dr. Sven Körner, Dr. Mathias Landhäußer, Georg Müller, and Abdelmalik El Guesaoui. The company already counts BASF, Hella, and Gothaer among its customers and also serves a number of SMEs. The startup has raised €4.5 million in a seed round led by Earlybird with participation from angel investors, and management says the funding will be used to grow its technological advantage, accelerate market expansion, and support international partners and large RPA vendors.
