Overview

ThreatConnect offers an intelligence-driven security operations platform (TIP + SOAR) that brings intelligence, automation, analytics, and workflows together for security operations, threat intelligence, incident response, and security leadership. The company launched its Platform in 2014 and expanded it in 2017 with advanced orchestration and automation capabilities to address a broader security operations market. ThreatConnect serves more than 1,600 organizations worldwide. Usage of the Platform’s advanced orchestration and automation Playbooks grew more than 40% in the past year, now executing more than 23,000 Playbooks per month per customer on average. The company says the new growth investment will accelerate go-to-market efforts, further Platform development, and expand its customer and partner community; it plans to increase staff by more than 50% over the next 12 months domestically and abroad. ThreatConnect has been recognized by Inc. 5000 and the Washington Business Journal for fast growth. ThreatConnect develops the ThreatConnect Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) to aggregate, analyze, and enable action against sophisticated cyberattacks. The platform is available in the cloud or on‑premises and is programmable by external developers via TC Exchange and an SDK, described as an open‑source workbench for sharing and modifying applications. The company says its product serves both analysts and executive management, aiming to give security operations executive‑level visibility. ThreatConnect plans to use its recent financing to increase global market penetration and to add a joint product built on SAP HANA to its portfolio in 2016. It positions itself as an enterprise‑class cybersecurity software platform and says SAP NS2 recognizes the product as mission‑critical for customers. Financially, ThreatConnect closed a Series B round in excess of $16 million. Founded in 2011 by a group of cybersecurity analysts and now operating as ThreatConnect, Inc., the company offers the ThreatConnect Threat Intelligence Platform in the cloud and on-premises to aggregate, analyze, and automate defenses. The platform is designed to help security teams leverage multiple sources of threat intelligence and coordinate responses across existing security investments. Currently over 550 global companies, including more than 40 of the Fortune 100, use the ThreatConnect platform. The technology was officially launched at Black Hat 2013; the company recorded 450% revenue growth in 2014 and anticipates more than doubling revenues in 2015. ThreatConnect had been self-funded until this raise and earned the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s "Hottest Bootstrap" award in June 2014. The Cyber Squared brand will continue to be used for the company’s consulting services.
