Overview

ThreeFlow offers a purpose-built benefits placement system for insurance brokerages that supports the end-to-end placement process and serves as a shared system of record between brokers and carriers. Founded in 2015 and based in Chicago, the company’s core product helps brokers aggregate carrier plans and tailor offerings for employers. In the past year ThreeFlow facilitated over $600 million in transactions and serves brokers representing 7,600 employers and 40 carriers across 34 U.S. states, with over 100 enterprise contracts (up from 28 in January). Since its Series A in January 2021 the company has grown headcount from roughly 20 to 84 employees and has hired four new executives; it plans to double its employee base in 2022. ThreeFlow intends to invest proceeds in engineering to broaden carrier integrations and will announce a broader API strategy next year to strengthen connectivity with insurance carriers. The company plans to leverage its broker and carrier data to provide leadership teams with decision-making insights and to improve broker–carrier engagement. ThreeFlow, formerly WatchTower, is a Chicago-based company founded in 2015 that builds a Benefits Placement System allowing brokers and carriers to manage the entire employee benefits placement process in one shared system. The platform connects people, systems, and information to help insurance carriers win business and brokers empower employers to make better benefits decisions for employees. With its rebrand to ThreeFlow the company says it is expanding its mission to build the first Benefits Placement System (BPS), a new category of enterprise software for the two main stakeholders: brokers and carriers. The company describes its technology as vertical software tailored to the specific requirements of the employee benefits procurement process. ThreeFlow has a team of roughly 68 people. Financially, the company announced an $8 million Series A led by Emergence Capital with participation from Equal Ventures and First Trust Capital Partners.
