Thync
1906 El Camino Real Suite 202, Menlo Park, California, 94027, United States
Overview
Thync is developing a consumer wearable headset that applies a combination of ultrasound and electrical stimulation to specific parts of the brain to induce feelings of energy or calm. Its founders have spent three years combining neuroscience advances with consumer product design to create a gadget users can wear for a few minutes to change their mental state. The company says users will feel a noticeable difference and can use the device repeatedly as needed. At the time of reporting Thync had not shown an early product publicly, though the device was slated for release next year. Financially, Thync has raised $13 million in funding so far, with the bulk of capital coming from Khosla Ventures. Investors appeared receptive to the concept despite limited public demonstrations.
