Overview

Tibo Energy develops a next-generation Energy Management System (EMS) for industrial and commercial sites that coordinates distributed assets to unlock additional capacity without costly grid upgrades. The platform combines an intuitive drag-and-drop Energy System Simulator with a real-time EMS powered by Alice, an optimisation algorithm that updates control schedules every five minutes using live data, price forecasts, and contract constraints. The hardware-agnostic system scales across asset types such as solar, batteries, and EV chargers, enabling proactive steering of assets to maximise value and reduce operational costs. Since launching in late 2023, Tibo has deployed its EMS on more than 30 industrial sites and runs projects with customers and partners including Montea, Intratuin, Unica, Hoppenbrouwers, and Stantec. The company plans to use the funding to expand into Germany and Belgium, grow the team, and add plug-and-play modules for fleet charging coordination, e-boiler control, and advanced Power BI visualisations. Tibo is positioned to help industrial customers manage congestion and contractual constraints while supporting sustainability and resilience goals. tibo energy builds a software-only, machine-learning powered energy management platform for commercial and industrial customers. Its platform lets companies create digital versions of their local energy networks to model, simulate and control complex combinations of assets such as solar, heat pumps and batteries. The software aims to simplify modelling and control so customers can electrify faster, optimise for price and CO2 impact, de-risk their energy supply, and avoid costly grid expansion. The company will use the new capital to grow its team and pursue international expansion. tibo’s commercial focus is on enabling customers to turn distributed energy assets into a local smart grid and a sustainable operating model. CEO and co-founder Remco Eikhout emphasized the product’s commercial potential and the strategic support from its new investors.
