Tinggal operates a network of budget hotels in Indonesia that guarantees a baseline of room and bed quality plus amenities such as free breakfast and WiFi. The company launched less than one month before the report and currently lists 35 properties across four cities, with standard rooms priced around $17 and an ‘elite’ option at about $60 per night. Tinggal says it is an independent company but is leveraging technology and experience developed by India’s Wudstay. It plans to cover Indonesia’s major cities over the next 12 months and to grow headcount from nine to about 35 in the next six months. The team is focused on winning in Indonesia first and will consider other markets only after establishing a leading position there.
