Overview
TinyCo is a San Francisco-based mobile games developer led by co-founder and CEO Suli Ali. The company has developed titles including Tiny Castle, Tiny Monsters, Tiny Zoo Friends and Tiny Village. Its games have been downloaded more than 85 million times on Apple, Google and Amazon mobile devices since 2010. TinyCo intends to use the funds to hire additional design and production staff to create new free-to-play mobile games. The company also appointed Mike O’Brien, president and co-founder of ArenaNet, to its board of directors. TinyCo had previously raised $18m in Series A funding. TinyCo is a mobile gaming company that develops casual iPhone games including Tap Resort Party, Tap Galaxy, and Tiny Chef. After pivoting from Facebook games, the founders focused exclusively on mobile following Tap Resort Party's Spring 2010 breakout. Tap Resort Party and Tiny Chef have each achieved over 5 million downloads and hundreds of thousands of daily active players; Tiny Chef reached as high as the number two top-grossing spot on the App Store. The company believes mobile gaming is poised for major growth driven by in-app payments coming to Android and an estimated 150 million iOS and Android devices expected to ship in the next year. TinyCo has around 40 employees, many from Playdom and Digital Chocolate, and aims to become a leading mobile gaming company. Its current financial position includes a recent $18 million funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, which also placed Marc Andreessen on the board.
