Overview
TinyRx offers a prescription-delivery service that searches for the best prices using coupons, manufacturer rebates and then hand-delivers medications rather than mailing them. The company works with existing pharmacies (it does not act as the pharmacy itself) to fulfill prescriptions and differentiates from competitors by focusing on price discovery and fast hand delivery. TinyRx beta tested its platform with several Bay Area physicians and pharmacies and currently only covers the Bay Area. The founders plan to roll the service out to more areas in 2016, likely starting with larger cities that have more tech-savvy users. TinyRx raised $5 million in initial seed funding to build out the business and expand its service to take on larger chain pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS. Competitors mentioned in the articles include PillPack, which mails prescriptions nationwide, and Zipdrug, which was operating in New York City at the time.
