Tipbit builds a mobile email application focused on surfacing contextual data within the inbox to enable productivity on mobile devices. The app indexes email content (names, topics, keywords) — a capability the company describes as “gravitational search” — and integrates with services such as Evernote, Dropbox, Salesforce and social profiles from LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. The updated app adds contextual instant search, filters by subject/date/sender/read status, and calendar filtering by source. Tipbit’s features let users perform tasks (view/share files, access Google, open calendar or contacts) without switching between apps. The product is currently available on iPhone and an Android version is in development. The company is early-stage, declined to provide user or growth numbers, and says the new funding will be used to expand its developers, UI designers and project managers.
