Overview

Tiptapp is a Stockholm-based digital marketplace that connects people who need help moving, recycling, or delivering items with others who have extra vehicle space and time to assist. Launched in 2016, the app is available in Sweden, the UK, Germany and Portugal and has been used across Europe. The company reports more than 140,000 downloads in Germany and for over two years has partnered with Berliner Stadtreinigungsbetriebe (BSR) to simplify recycling in Berlin. Led by CEO Tim Bjelkstam, Tiptapp aims to help users save time, earn extra income, and reduce their environmental footprint. The company raised a €1M non-dilutive growth loan accessed via Gilion and plans to use the funds to launch targeted marketing campaigns to boost brand awareness and user adoption in Berlin. Tiptapp is a Stockholm-based mobile app that lets users quickly contact someone to pick up garbage and unwanted household goods. The service launched in late autumn 2015 and since then several thousand users have joined the app. To date the company has focused mostly on the Stockholm area. Tiptapp has taken in €2 million in new financing, after raising €1 million last year. Co-founder Tim Bjelkstam said the new capital is only part of what the company intends to bring in and that a more substantial round is planned later. The company has begun plans to expand to the UK, Switzerland, Belgium and the Nordic countries.
