TNL Media Group, formerly The News Lens, is a Taipei-based media company that operates several online publishing verticals alongside a nascent data analytics business. Launched in 2013 as a bilingual site for millennial readers, it has expanded into separate sites for tech, sports, lifestyle, gadgets and entertainment. Its product set also includes mobile ad tech, digital ticketing, online events and classes, and a content management system it plans to license. The company averages around 14 million monthly unique users, and its data analytics business—launched within the past year—currently serves about three to five clients per month. Planned uses of capital include adding more media verticals, accelerating international expansion in Southeast Asia (and potential partnerships to launch in Japan), and finishing a pipeline of data analytics and tech service products. By year-end it aims to integrate its products with readership and data to develop a demand-side platform and a data management platform already in production. The company says these offerings will become an increasingly important part of its business portfolio.
