Toast is a social wish-list app that lets users create a universal wishlist from items found online, products in stores, or intangible services like nights out. Users can view friends' wishes, add items to their own lists, share wishlists via the web, and receive birthday notifications to check friends' lists in advance. The company launched its iPhone app out of stealth and the app is available for free in the iTunes App Store. Toast positions itself as a "pull" service focused on wishlists and community rather than a direct buying mechanism. The founders have discussed working with Facebook to affiliate with its Gifts platform. Financially, the startup has raised seed financing reported to be in the region of €500,000 from angel investors and early backers.
