Tok Tok Tok is a French on-demand local delivery platform that lets customers request someone to shop on their behalf and deliver items the same day, often within the hour. The service uses a network of vetted and trained "runners" who supply their own transport and can be tracked in real time. The company claims a 300,000-item catalogue and, while in beta, has signed up 20,000 customers in Paris; average delivery times are around half an hour and repeat users who try it twice return on average four times per month. Its platform syncs with retailers' systems when possible and uses algorithms and machine learning to predict delivery times and provide up-front pricing and accurate quotes. Tok Tok Tok generates revenue from small kickbacks from partner retailers plus delivery charges to customers. The startup launched in Paris last April and plans to expand to other European cities, with London named as the next target.
