Token.io is a London, UK-based account-to-account (A2A) payment infrastructure company. It provides Pay by Bank solutions to empower banks, fintechs, platforms and payment companies. Its solutions are used across the payments community, including Mastercard, ACI Worldwide and Global Payments. The company is led by CEO Todd Clyde. Token.io received an investment from HSBC and additional funding from a majority of its existing investors; the amount was not disclosed. It intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts. Token provides Open Payment and data connectivity across Europe, offering an enterprise-first toolkit that enables account-to-account payments, aggregated bank account and transaction data access, smarter onboarding, deeper insights, and instant authentication. The company is trusted by over 80 payment service providers, gateways, banks and large merchants and represents over 210 million potential end-users of Open Payment services and over €13tn in customer deposits. Token’s platform delivers deep functionality that lets players in the existing payment value chain create new revenue streams and bring direct bank payments to customers. The business focuses on enterprise and payment service provider customers and emphasizes a complete Open Payment toolkit. The company plans to use new capital to continue building out Open Payments connectivity, increase expansion into Europe, and further develop its differentiated platform. Financially, Token completed a $40m Series C growth investment led by Cota Capital and TempoCap.
