Overview
Toku is a Singapore-based, Asia-Pacific-focused provider of enterprise cloud communications and customer experience solutions. The company has operated since April 2018. Toku completed a $5 million Series A extension led by Betatron Venture Group, with participation from the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Venture Fund (ITVF) and other investors. The injection brings the company’s total funding to $18 million. Management says the new capital will support continued international expansion. Toku also appointed former Singapore minister Chen Huihua as chair of its advisory board. Toku provides bespoke cloud communications and customer engagement solutions including Programmable APIs, Contact Centre and Corporate Telephony to help enterprises reimagine customer experience across APAC. The company combines local in‑country infrastructure, regional expertise and global reach to support digital transformation for businesses and government agencies. Toku works with regional brands such as foodpanda, Gojek, Lenskart, Decathlon and JCDecaux. It reported a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 128 percent over the past four years (including forecasted FY2022) and is closing in on half a billion customer interactions processed annually across 17 APAC markets. Toku plans to expand its local presence in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, South Korea and the Philippines and aims to double headcount to about 200 by 2024. The company will continue to invest in innovation and technology to unify customer experience and employee experience into an all‑in‑one platform. Toku provides cloud communications solutions across UCaaS, CPaaS and communication APIs with native telco connectivity and integrations into tools like Microsoft Teams, HubSpot and Salesforce. The company is developing a hosted contact-centre (CCaaS) offering and aims to build an all-in-one platform combining CPaaS, UCaaS and CCaaS functionality. Toku will use the funding to enhance product capabilities, expand regional coverage and pursue strategic partnerships. It plans to develop its CCaaS solution over the next 18 months as part of broader product roadmap. The company intends to double its workforce in the next 12 months, adding more than 40 roles and opening additional offices across APAC. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Singapore, Toku serves customers including Gojek, JCDecaux, Public Utilities Board Singapore and foodpanda.
