Tolergyx has developed an oral immunotherapy delivered as capsules that enable targeted release of the peanut allergen in the gastrointestinal tract rather than via the buccal mucosa. The company says this approach avoids common oral-side effects, improves patient tolerance and acceptability, and helps standardize dosing. Tolergyx was founded at the end of 2025 by Paul Carpentier with immunology professor Bertrand Evrard and pediatric allergist Jean-Luc Fauquert, based on over 15 years of academic research. In the near term the company plans to secure manufacturing, advance regulatory filings, and prepare discussions with European and U.S. health authorities. The startup is prioritizing pediatric patients and intends to extend its technology to other allergies and patient segments, citing a potential market worth several tens of billions of euros and noting more than 17 million people in Europe affected by peanut allergy.
