The company integrates with e-commerce systems like Shopify and Magento and works with more than 1,000 brands including ThirdLove, Peak Design and Usual Wines. Customers of Tone’s clients have seen as much as a 26% increase in revenue and a 15% increase in order size. Tone assigns specific agents (represented as a consistent persona) to particular brands so customers often interact with the same persona over time. The founders previously ran and sold Fortified Bicycle, where they developed the semi-automated texting system that inspired Tone. With new funding, Tone plans to build out the “relationship automation” aspects of the product and may eventually expand beyond SMS into broader conversational channels.
