Torch 3D, founded in January 2017 by Paul Reynolds, Josh Faust, and Antony Falco, is building a design platform to empower designers to quickly iterate and collaborate on spatial 3D concepts in AR/VR. The company is based in Portland, Oregon and targets applications in experiential brand marketing, medical, consumer product packaging, retail, feature film production, real estate, industrial training and others. Torch 3D raised $3.5m in seed funding led by the Venture Reality Fund and Silicon Valley Data Capital. The round included participation from Seven Peaks Ventures, GVR Fund, Presence Capital, Antipodean Ventures, Jerome Capital and TWB Investment Partnership. The company intends to use the funds to finalize its beta efforts and expand operations. The platform focuses on enabling fast prototyping and collaborative workflows for spatial 3D concepts in augmented and virtual reality.
