Total Immersion develops the D'Fusion augmented reality software platform that enables developers to integrate realtime interactive 3D graphics into live video, blurring the line between the virtual and real world. The company plans to step up development of D'Fusion and expand operations in Asia and the United States. It aims to grow its community of developers and explore new consumer markets. Intel Capital led a $5.5 million funding round announced in this article; existing backers Partech, iSource and Elaia Partners participated. With this financing the company has now raised more than $11 million in total. Total Immersion was founded in 1999, and Intel says it will work with the company to develop new usage experiences for its platforms.
