Toura develops a web-based mobile content management system, the Toura Mobile App Producer, that lets travel and cultural attractions create interactive, multimedia tours for smartphones. The Mobile App Producer, introduced in 2009, enables museums, galleries, zoos, parks and historic sites to build tours consumers can download via app stores such as iTunes, Android, BlackBerry and Nokia. The company focuses on multi-media mobile tour applications and targets cultural and travel venues as customers. Toura secured $1.5M in seed funding from a group of angel investors. It plans to use the proceeds to continue advancing its technology platform and to accelerate business development, operations and marketing. Geographic expansion efforts are targeted at the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
