Trace offers an all-in-one platform that connects finance teams with the rest of the business to handle budgeting, accounting, procurement and other workflows. The product centers on giving budget owners visibility into financial targets and coordinating stakeholders such as department heads, legal and security operations. Trace launched in 2018 and debuted its service in 2020. It integrates with Sage Intacct, NetSuite and QuickBooks and currently targets companies with 200–1,500 employees, with plans to expand to larger enterprises over time. The company is distributed, has a dozen employees mostly in R&D, and plans to add headcount as the business grows. Diversity and inclusion is a stated priority of co-founder and CEO Mike Gonzalez, who drew on prior consulting work and experience building internal systems at Zenefits.
