Overview
TradeIX operates the Marco Polo Network, an open platform that uses distributed ledger technology to facilitate the flow of goods, money, credit, transactions and trade-related information within a secure environment for global trade. The company is led by CEO and co-founder Robert Barnes and serves as a technology provider and network operator for the Marco Polo Network. Financial institutions and corporations including BNY Mellon, Bank of America, BNP Paribas, Commerzbank, ING, LBBW, Standard Chartered Bank, AIG, Oracle and DHL work with TradeIX. As part of a partnership with Accenture, TradeIX plans to expand use cases beyond banking to address buyers and sellers and to develop touchless finance processes such as procure-to-pay and order-to-cash. The initiative will broaden the Marco Polo Network to include buyers, suppliers, logistics and other entities, with Accenture acting as a preferred implementation partner for the Marco Polo Platform. TradeIX has offices in Dublin, London, Kettering and Singapore and operations in Germany and the US. TradeIX offers a decentralized, API-driven open platform for trade finance that leverages blockchain technology to connect with existing trade platforms and applications. The platform is designed so each client can add it to their existing systems to improve connectivity across the wider trade ecosystem. TradeIX has established partnerships with various banks, corporates and ERP providers and works with enterprise software firm R3 on the Marco Polo initiative to develop distributed-ledger use in trade transactions. Led by CEO and Founder Rob Barnes, the company operates from offices in London, with additional offices in Dublin and Singapore. In June 2018 TradeIX closed a $16M Series A to support its growth. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate hiring, speed customer acquisition, and invest in further development of its open platform.
