Traitify

101 N Haven St Suite 203, Baltimore, MD, 21224, US

Overview

Traitify provides a visual-based, scientifically-backed personality assessment that delivers a Big Five profile in under two minutes. Its SaaS platform integrates recruitment process automation and offers benchmarking, prioritization, and selection capabilities to help employers identify best-fit candidates at scale. The product is positioned for high-volume, high-turnover hiring and is being advanced with a particular focus on hourly workers. Traitify's assessments also enable candidates to share results socially and help employers personalize communications and learning development. The company reports more than 200 organizations using its SaaS offering, including customers such as McDonald's Canada, Coles, JO-ANN Stores, and Lowes Foods. Traitify was founded in 2011 and is based in Baltimore. Traitify has developed core technology that combines big data and psychology to collect observable patterns and make predictions about customer behavior, preferences and tendencies. Its core product is a personality API that enables businesses to match the right features, products or services to unique individuals. The company already serves over 30 customers in the educational and government space and is in talks to integrate the API across careers, social, dating, movies, commerce, enterprise and internet verticals. Founded in 2011 and led by CEO Derek Mercer, Traitify is headquartered in Baltimore, MD and currently has a team of 18. The company closed a $4M Series A and has raised over $8M to date, including $2M in convertible notes. It plans to use the funds to add new people to its team, pursue new partnerships, and extend its personality API to businesses and app developers. Woofound provides a visual, image-based personality assessment delivered through an HTML5 web app and an iOS app to produce automated matches to courses, clubs, jobs and other items. Its two products are Woofound Explore (iOS) and its current focus, Woofound Compass, which uses short visual “me”/“not me” prompts to generate statistically grounded personality assessments in about five minutes. Compass is in use at nine universities and has been taken by nearly 20,000 students, and the company also works with local Workforce Development departments to match unemployed job seekers to positions. The platform avoids lengthy written tests and automatic matching reduces the need for manual interpretation of results. With the new funding Woofound plans continued product development, including a forthcoming API to let other services access its technology, and is in discussions with job-listing services and other potential partners. The company has raised over $4.2 million to date, declined to disclose detailed revenue, licenses its technology to schools and customers pay based on size, and operates with a team of 18 (with plans to hire one or two more developers). Woofound launched a nationwide iOS app that recommends activities, places and restaurants by matching users’ personalities to suggestions through a simple “Me”/“Not Me” rating game. The personality-matching technology was developed with psychoanalyst Dr. Noreen Honeycutt and can identify over 300 levels of personality and preferences. Data is currently concentrated around Baltimore and the D.C. region, and the service is live across the top 70 U.S. metro areas; Eventbrite and Eventful integrations are planned. The app’s initial consumer uses include finding things to do with friends, seeing who’s attending events, and sharing event details, while the underlying technology could be applied to roommate matching and product recommendations. The University of Maryland, Baltimore County will release a Woofound-powered career-path app for students, showing non-consumer applications. The company was founded by Dan Sines and Josh Spears in April 2011, operates a team of fifteen in Baltimore, and is planning an Android release in the fall. Financially, Woofound has raised over $1 million from private and angel investors and is planning a $3–5 million next round.
