1751 Torrance Blvd, Suite K, Torrance, CA, 90501, United States
Overview
Transient Plasma Systems develops and markets nanosecond pulsed power systems that leverage low-temperature plasma for commercial, industrial and research applications. Its core product is pulsed power hardware and systems commercializing technology developed at the University of Southern California with over a decade of Department of Defense support. Led by CEO and co-founder Dr. Dan Singleton and headquartered in Torrance, California, the company was spun out of USC to translate the technology into products for military and commercial markets. The company completed an $8.5M Series A led by Kairos Ventures, following a $1.5M seed from the same investor. Funds will be used to expand TPS infrastructure to pursue opportunities such as ignition of advanced high-efficiency combustion engines, emissions reduction, and industrial plasma processing, and to invest in the core team, manufacturing base and intellectual property. As part of the investment, James Demetriades, CEO of Kairos Ventures, will join the company's board; Kairos' total investment in the company now totals $10M.
