Overview
TreasurySpring operates a platform that lets businesses put excess cash reserves to work via standardized, regulated Fixed-Term-Funds (FTFs) and other cash investment products. The platform offers some 600 standardized products across seven currencies and three categories: governments, corporates and banks. Its customers range from scaling startups to FTSE 100 corporations, with about 250 customers onboarded and a further 100 being onboarded, and typical client cash profiles span from roughly $5–10M to billions. The company was founded in 2017 by ex-hedge fund and asset-management professionals and has been growing steadily, with recent market events (SVB and Credit Suisse) driving surge interest. TreasurySpring is using new capital to expand its product offering and accelerate go-to-market efforts aimed at persuading risk-averse treasurers to adopt its solutions. The business highlights its role in providing treasury teams with diversification and better returns than traditional deposit accounts. TreasurySpring operates an online ‘Fixed-Term Funds’ (FTF) platform that gives holders of large cash balances access to a menu of proprietary cash investments usually available only to major financial institutions. FTFs provide a range of low-risk cash investment options across the bank, government, and corporate sectors and are pitched as an alternative to bank deposits and money market funds in a low/negative interest-rate environment. The company says the platform enables institutions to invest excess cash on a daily basis and aims to open traditional money markets to a broader pool of participants. Founded in 2016 by Kevin Cook, Matthew Longhurst and James Skillen, TreasurySpring reports it has issued more than $9 billion of FTFs to clients including FTSE 100 and other listed companies, fund managers, large private companies, charities and family offices. Management says it increased assets under management by 10x over the past 12 months and is using new investor partnerships to support ambitious growth plans and to expand its front‑office treasury capabilities. TreasurySpring provides digital pipelines that connect cash-rich firms to institutional borrowers across the sovereign, bank and corporate sectors. Founded in 2016 by Kevin Cook (CEO), Matthew Longhurst (COO) and James Skillen (CTO), it launched a digital Fixed-Term Fund (FTF) portal in July 2019 after a year of beta testing. The FTF product enables holders of large cash balances — corporates, charities, private funds, insurance companies, family offices and private banks — to reduce and diversify risk while increasing returns. For investment-grade borrowers the platform offers flexible, low-cost access to a diverse universe of short-term funding sources. To date TreasurySpring has issued more than $600m of FTFs to clients across multiple sectors. The company has raised over £3.5m since its first external capital injection in November 2017.
