TreeDots operates a vertically integrated food-surplus marketplace for F&B businesses along with a social-commerce group-buying feature for consumers. The company is building its own cold-chain logistics infrastructure and a logistics arm called TreeLogs, combining in-house and external services to improve utilization and delivery density. TreeDots began in 2017 and focuses on acquiring cosmetically imperfect or surplus food upstream in the supply chain rather than redistributing retailer waste. Its marketplace can sell surplus to F&B businesses at up to 90% cheaper than other suppliers and helps suppliers digitize operations via an app. The startup plans to use new funding to grow operations in Malaysia, enter additional markets, and continue optimizing its logistics and supply-chain business. TreeDots reports its gross merchandise volume has grown more than 4x year-over-year.
