Treemo Labs

101 Yesler Way Suite 207, Seattle, Washington, 98104, United States

Overview

Treemo Labs is a Seattle startup whose flagship product was Flowboard, now rebranded as FlowVella. FlowVella is a presentation and storytelling app designed to allow anyone to create visual presentations that are elegant, simple, innovative, and powerful. The company announced a $4.99 Mac version and an iPad App Builder that can turn presentations into standalone apps. Early customers include Seattle’s Experience Music Project, which is using the technology in museum exhibits. The rebrand follows a 17-month legal dispute with Flipboard; the company retained the same F logo. Treemo raised $750,000 in startup financing earlier this year from angel investors including Geoff Entress and Vijay Vashee. Treemo lets users upload photos, videos, audio clips and text from mobile phones or desktop browsers and share them publicly or with friends. The company has released three embeddable widgets (a 24-item channel, a single-item highlight, and an SMS subscription widget) plus a Facebook application that surfaces recent uploads in mini-feeds and embeds a channel player. Treemo is building a public API (pre-release partners include Chinese site 3GDODO and a citizen-journalism partner) with a planned public launch in Q1 2008. The product is browser-based on mobile (XHTML and WAP) rather than requiring a phone client. Recent UI and localization updates add Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish and German support and a homepage that highlights friends' contributions. In October Treemo raised $2.55M in its first round, led by JK&B Capital of Chicago.
